About Dr. Bowes
Shauna Bowes, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience providing outpatient psychotherapy across the lifespan. She has worked in intensive outpatient, counseling center, and private practice settings with adolescents and adults. Her specialties include the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders (generalized, social, panic, phobias). She also offers services for depression, life transitions and adjustments, emotion dysregulation, and parent training. Her doctoral education and training were completed at Emory University.

Dr. Bowes adopts a client-centered approach to therapy that is rooted in evidence-based techniques, namely Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She additionally draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches. Dr. Bowes has expertise working with parents of anxious children, with training in “The Incredible Years” and "Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)" parenting programs. She has experience working with parents in hospital, counseling center, and private practice settings.
