At the first appointment, you can expect your therapist to take time to get to know you, understand your background and history, and explore your reasons for seeking therapy. This will involve inquiries about your personal history, current challenges, and relevant mental and/or physical health. You will have the opportunity ask questions about the therapy process and discuss any concerns or fears you may have. Your therapist will begin to work collaboratively with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs and goals, ensuring that you feel heard and supported throughout the process. You can expect an atmosphere that is casual, warm, and welcoming.
